May 2017: Witek Nazarewicz receives Flerov Prize

Hannah Professor of Physics Witold "Witek" Nazarewicz has been awarded the G. N. Flerov Prize by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia, for his theoretical studies of the atomic and nuclear properties of the heaviest elements.
The prize, established in 1992 in memory of eminent physicist Georgy N. Flerov (1913-1990), after whom element 114, flerovium, was named, rewards contributions to nuclear physics related to Flerov's interests. The prize committee announced Dr. Nazarewicz's receipt of the award after its meeting on 16 May 2017.
