January 2016: New Abrams Planetarium show "Skywatchers of Africa"
Abrams Planetarium has a new featured show, "Skywatchers of Africa", which explores African cultural uses of astronomical information which have developed over time. Aspects of societies in Africa, ranging from spirituality to ritual to ordinary survival needs, have for thousands of years been influenced by their knowledge of the sky.
The show runs through mid-April on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and on Sundays at 4:00 pm.
Abrams Planetarium also has a family show aimed at younger audiences which runs at 2:30 pm on Sunday afternoons. From now through early March, this will be "Perfect Little Planet", which follows a family from another star system as it explore some of the features of our galaxy's planets.
