Physics Initiatives Enrichment Fund

The Physics Initiatives Enrichment Fund provides support for exploring new directions in Physics Research and Education. Donations go towards cutting-edge research as seed money and matching funds for proposals in new areas such as Nanotechnology, Biological Physics, Quantum Computing, and Virtual University & Distance Learning Instruction.

Tung Award

The Wu-Ki Tung Award supports MSU's involvement in the CTEQ Conference series which was co-founded by the late Professor Emeritus Wu-Ki Tung. Established in his honor, this award will be presented to promising and exemplary young researchers to assist them in their attendance of the conference. It may go towards the expenses involved in attending the conference itself or towards research expenses leading to the results which will be presented there.

Undergraduate Programs and Awards

As part of the MSU Department of Physics & Astronomy's educational mission, it supports a number of programs and activities especially targeted towards making the lives of undergraduate Physics and Astronomy majors a little bit easier.

These include access to a collection of textbooks, a location for meetings, occasional social gatherings, and a small number of annual awards for undergraduates who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the classroom and in the research laboratory setting.

Donor support allows the department to maintain these programs and awards.
