Biophysics
Our department has an active and dynamic biophysics effort led by professors Lisa Lapidus
and Matthew Comstock; their facilities include various ultrafast microfluidic mixers
coupled to a confocal microscope, pump-probe spectrometer, circular dichroism spectrometer, and an angstrom-resolution
optical trap combined with simultaneous single molecule fluorescence spectroscopy.
Other faculty with research interests in biophysics include Phillip Duxbury, Ruby Ghosh,
Carlo Piermarocchi, Stuart Tessmer and Wolfgang Bauer.
Several members of our faculty are also members of the MSU Quantitative Biology & Modeling Initiative (QBMI)
