Conferences and Workshops

The MSU Department of Physics & Astronomy and many of its sub-units and affiliated research groups periodically host Conferences and Workshops. This is an access point for the information.

20–24 October 2018: The 13th International Computational Accelerator Physics Conference (ICAP'18), organized by Michigan State University, will take place at the Casa Marina Resort in Key West, Florida. It will focus on advances in Computational Accelerator Physics and their application to existing machines and future facilities. It will provide a forum for researchers in modeling and simulation to exchange information and discuss new ideas that benefit a wide area of accelerator science and technology.

10–13 October 2018: The 2018 Great Lakes Planetarium Association Conference, hosted by MSU, will have talks and activities with locations at Abrams Planetarium, the Henry Center for Executive Development and the Biomedical & Physical Sciences Building.

30 September – 03 October 2018: The Quantum Information Science Workshop at MSU, organized by MSU Physics & Astronomy Professors Birge, Duxbury, Dykman and Pollanen, will take place at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on the MSU campus.

22–28 July 2018: The 36th Annual International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory will take place at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The annual lattice field theory conference includes particle physics, nuclear physics and computational physics, covering numerous topics (see the web page for details).

16–20 July 2018: LoopFest XVII will take place in the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Building (BPS) on the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, USA. It provides a forum for discussing the latest results in precision quantum field theory and their applications to understanding experimental data at current and future colliders. The format will be 3.5 days of plenary talks. (see the web page for details).

23–24 March 2018: The joint Spring Meeting of the Ohio-Region Section of the American Physical Society and Michigan Section of the American Association of Phyics Teachers will be held in the Biomedical and Physical Sciences building on the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The meeting theme will be Promoting a diverse and inclusive future for physics and astronomy (see the webpage for details).
