Past Physics Education Projects
MSU Physics and Astronomy faculty have long been at the forefront of researching and implementing procedures and tools for enhancing the educational process, not only in Physics and Astronomy, but in other fields as well. Adapting new technologies to instructional use has been a common theme in this research and the tools which have resulted from it.
Computers and networks have been instrumental in the development of such programs as Project Physnet, Competency-Based Instruction (CBI), the Computer Assisted Personalized Approach (CAPA), and Multimedia Physics, the last three of which were merged into the ongoing LearningOnline Network with CAPA (LON-CAPA) program.
