Pair Production

SPS Peer Mentoring Program flier

In this program, first- and second-year undergraduate mentees are paired with third- and fourth-year undergraduate mentors. This is a great avenue for underclassmen to network with upperclassmen and find answers to questions like:

  • How did you find research as an undergrad?
  • Did you ever go to office hours? More importantly: do you still go to office hours?
  • Should I double major?
  • Did you like <insert course>?
  • I love to do a lot of things outside of Physics. Can I still find the time to explore my hobbies and interests? How was your experience?
  • How much has your love for the Society of Physics Students grown in the last 3-4 years?

As part of the program, mentor/mentee pairs will meet about twice a month for coffee or lunch at a time and place of their choosing. Each meeting will be reimbursed up to $30 by the SPS.

While we harbor no affiliation with Foster Coffee on grand river - it's pretty great.

If you are interested in being a mentor or a mentee, please fill out this short survey by Monday, September 15!

We would love to welcome back mentors and mentees from last year!
